Armstrong Elementary School
Dallas, Texas
I first spoke to Head Librarian Lori Riley in November 2017, as I arranged my Texas tour dates. She immediately decided that a visit would be an excellent way to introduce the students at Armstrong Elementary to the Hideout Kids and mystical tales about the Wild West. Lori's from Lubbock, Texas, not far from my hometown of Midland and very close to the magical town of Muleshoe.
I arrived at 8:30am and spent the next 4 hours with Lori, teachers and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and even a few 4th grade students. We had a fantastic time, laughed at a bunch of bad jokes, heard about Wild Thing's upcoming meal and the Parrot Gang's unfortunate occurrence. Lori also filmed an interview conducted by Brooke, one of Armstrong's more dynamic students, as she asked me questions about the books. Hopefully soon we can share that interview on this page.
Lori wrote, "It was a joy to have you visit our school. Thanks again to you for everything!"
I can't wait for a return visit, Lori, thank you.
